From Scotland to Saskatchewan.

I am originally from Fife, Scotland and emigrated with my family to the village of Dysart, Saskatchewan. We set up a farming operation seeding about 2000 acres of grain, and running a sheep flock of some 120 texel cross ewes. Farming in Saskatchewan was very different to what I was used to in Scotland, and I have learned many new farming practices since moving here.
About 13 + years ago I took the opportunity to start in the Farm Consultancy/Real Estate business, helping people find farms in Saskatchewan. We specialized in helping people from U.K. and other parts of the world relocate to Saskatchewan.
Over the past few years the Farm Real Estate business has grown to the point where we had to make a decision on whether to concentrate on Farming or Real Estate, we made the decision to sell the farm and to concentrate on the Farm Real Estate side of our business. This was a very difficult decision to make as Dysart was a tremendous community to live in and we made many friends.
Over the years we have learnt a great deal about farming, real estate and doing business in Saskatchewan, now we would like to pass some of this information onto new clients. I am still actively involved in farming in Saskatchewan which keeps me very much up to date with farming practices and modern technology that is changing rapidly.
Picking up your roots and moving to another Province or Country is not always easy, our aim is to ensure that such a move is made as easy and problem free as possible. Having helped people for many years, we know many of the problems that can arise, therefore we are able to try to help you avoid these hurdles before they arise
